Eurojury: Slovenia Calling!

After a weekend of microstates we head to Slovenia. Slovenia this year are being hotly tipped for their best result in the contest in a number of years. They are being represented in Austria by the husband and wife team Maraaya with the song “Here For You”.

Slovenia debuted in the contest in 1993 with group 1X Band and the song “Tih deževen dan”, they finished 22nd in the contest with a total of 9 points. Slovenia’s best results were 7th place finished in 1995 and 2001. In recent years Slovenia has only made it into the final on three occasions, in 2007, 2011 and last years contest in Copenhagen.

On the Slovenian Eurojury are three artists, they are:

  • Clemens – Participated in EMA 2015 with the song “Mava To”, he did not make it through to the super final.
  • Martina Majerle – Represented Slovenia at Eurovision 2009 with “Love Symphony”, it finished 16th in the second semi final. She has been a backing singer for Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia and participated in EMA 2015.
  • Omar Naber – Represented Slovenia at Eurovision 2005 with “Stop” finishing 12th in the semi final with 69 points. He has tried to represent Slovenia on three other occassions.

Here are the results of the Slovenian vote:

  1. Australia – 12 points
  2. Norway – 10 points
  3. Russia – 8 points
  4. Italy – 7 points
  5. Albania – 6 points
  6. Spain – 5 points
  7. Georgia – 4 points
  8. Sweden – 3 points
  9. Estonia – 2 points
  10. FYR Macedonia – 1 point

So after those votes the top. 5 now looks like this:

  1. Australia – 104 points
  2. Italy – 71 points
  3. Russia – 65 points
  4. Sweden – 65 points
  5. Iceland – 52 points
