EBU reveals host city of Eurovision Young Musicians 2018

EBU has revealed the host city of Eurovision Young Musicians 2018. The 19th edition of the contest will be held in Edinburgh (United Kingdom) with BBC as the host broadcaster. 

What is Eurovision Young Musicians?

Eurovision Young Musicians is a biennial contest where the most talented European musicians up to eighteen compete performing pieces of classical music along with a symphony orchestra.

The upcoming edition

Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 will see the return of the semi-final elimination round, which will take the form of public chamber recitals held in the St. Cecilia’s Hall. This round will take place on August 18-19 and it will be produced by BBC Radio 3 for distribution to the Euroradio network.

The Grand Final of Eurovision Young Musicians 2018 will take place on August 24 in the Usher Hall, with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Thomas Dausgaard.

The full line-up of the next year’s edition will be revealed in February 2018.

Who won in 2016?

Łukasz Dyczko from Poland won Eurovision Young Musicians in 2016, while the second and third prizes were awarded to the Czech Republic and Austria.
