What is special about this year’s national final of Denmark?
This year’s national final of Denmark sees the first time that there are no songs in the Danish language. This was not done on purpose, but after reviewing approximately 600 song submissions the selection commission just happened to choose 8 songs that are in English, because the committee believes that these songs have the highest potential to do well in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Are there any well-known Eurovision names in this year’s Danish national final?
Yes, this year there is one well-known Eurovision name in Melodi Grand Prix 2024, this name is Bassim. In the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 Bassim participated on home-ground with the song “Cliché Love Song”, ending in 9th place (of 26) in the Grand Final.

Who represented Denmark in Eurovision 2023?
In Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool (UK) Denmark was represented by Reiley with the Kpop song “Breaking My Heart”. Reiley unfortunately did not do well, ending 14th (of 16) in Semi-final 2. Reiley’s participation in the 2023 contest marked the first time an artist of the Faroe Islands (autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, situated above the UK, in the North Atlantic Ocean) represented Denmark.
