Eurovision Eurovision 2017 Greece

Demy highly reported for Greece

UPDATE: OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION BY ERT

According to Grigoris Melas from newsit.gr, the decision has been taken and the artist who will travel to Kyiv for Greece is Demy. Rumors have been going around over the past few weeks that ERT wanted to hold a national final with two artists, Demy herself and Stereo Soul. However, it appears to the female candidate who will compete at Eurovision 2017.

The Greek journalist has also mentioned that the broadcaster plans to hold a national final with only one contestant, following the 2009 concept. The national show would feature three songs in English written by Dimitris Kontopoulos, a familiar face in the Eurovision world as he has already taken part six times as a composer. Fokas Evangelinos is also mentioned to be responsible for the staging of the songs in the national final, as well as in Kyiv.

Both Fokas and Dimitris have brought good results to the countries they’ve taken part with, being their worst place a 7th. It’s worth mentioning that these two collaborated with Russia’s 2016 representative Sergey Lazarev which came 3rd, but won the televoting.

According to Melas’ sources, an official announcement will be made by ERT in the next few days including the national final announcement, expected to be held in February.
