Yesterday we knew Bosnia&Herzegovina will not participate in Eurovision 2015. Today, we have good news instead. The Czech Republic, who participated in Eurovision from 2007 to 2009 being the less successful country in Eurovision history with only 10 points in 3 semifinals, and an 18th place in the 2008 semifinal as their best result. Despite that, Jon Ola Sand said that “We are very excited to have the country back to Eurovision after 5 years of absence, making the Eurovision family even more complete for the 60th anniversary”.
Marketa Stinglova, Manager of International Content Project Center at the Czech television, said that “We are very happy to be back in that wonderful competition. After three entries in the previous years we hope that we can offer Europe a top quality Czech song”. The broadcaster will decide who will represent them with an internal selection, with a jury of experts will decide which entry will be Czech Republic’s Eurovision song for 2015 after being offered 5 songs directly from well-known composers.
The last time the Czech Republic was represented in Eurovision was in 2009, when “Aven Romale” by Gipsy.cz came last in the semifinal, with 0 points.
