Alessandro Rütten, known as Sandro Nicolas, is a German performer with Greek and American roots that has a wide experience in the musical panorama. He started composing his own songs at the age of 15 and now, at 23, has already taken part in several competitions. In 2015, he participated in ‘Supertalent’, but it wasn’t until 2018 when he rose to fame because of his participation at The Voice of Germany, where he reached the sing-offs. Last summer, he took part at the New Wave contest in Russia in which he finished 6th.

According to reports, he was in talks with the Swiss and German broadcasters to enter their respective national selections. Also, it is said that he will work with the well-known Dream Team, made up of Ilias Kokotos, Fokas Evagelinos and Dimitris Kontopoulos, with three songs in the race to Eurovision 2020:

  • “My Getaway”
  • “Falling to Pieces”
  • “Never Let You Down”

Cyprus has assumed the role of providing high-quality polished stars over the past two years with Eleni Foureira almost winning Eurovision in 2018 and last year with Tamta making the final and becoming easily one of the year’s fan-favourite entries.
