Cypriot broadcaster CyBC has released an image to its social media channels giving fans a hint to stay tuned. The image as shown below with only the word ‘Loading’ appeared and has Eurovision fans speculating what this could mean for the artist announcement.
Cyprus has assumed the role of providing high-quality polished stars over the past two years with Eleni Foureira almost winning Eurovision in 2018 and last year with Tamta making the final and becoming easily one of the year’s fan-favorite entries. There will once again be an internal selection for Rotterdam and so it is with no surprise that the smallest hint of information about the 2020 Cyprus representative attracts attention.
Last year, the broadcaster also took a very baiting approach to their artist reveal, slowly publishing the various team members before confirming Tamta was the artist. Their entry was composed by Greek-Swedish composer Alex Papaconstantinou and his team. At Eurovision in Tel Aviv, Cyprus managed to reach the Grand Final, where Tamta finished 13th.
