Today the Cypriot entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 was revealed, and it turns out that it is Andromachi who will fly the Cypriot flag in Turin (Italy) this year, with the song “Ela”. The search for the Cypriot contestant was done internally.
“Ela” is the title of the Cypriot song. This song has very characteristic sounds of Hellenistic culture, where the bouzouki is the most striking element, as it is a guitar of special relevance in modern Greek music.
The song “Ela” is written and composed by Alex P, Arash, Eyelar Mirzazadeh, Fatjon Miftaraj, Filloreta Raci Fifi, Geraldo Sandell, Giorgos Papadopoulos, Robert Uhlmann, Viktor Svensson and Yll Limani. You can listen to it at the following link on the Panik Records website.
Andromachi Dimitropoulou is a Greek singer. After studying in the Greek capital Athens, Andromachi decided to give a music career a chance. In 2015 she competed in the Greek music talent search “The Voice of Greece”, but she was eliminated in the second live show. In 2017 Andromachi released her first single “To feggari” (trans. “The Moon”), which was written by legendary Eurovision songwriter and producer, Giorgos Papadopoulos. And now, in 2022, she will represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Italy. Quite the journey it has been!
