ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster, has announced that the country is ready to reveal its 2023 entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The reveal will happen in the early morning of January 31st 2023.
The grand reveal
The grand reveal of Austria’s next contestant will be in the morning of January 31st 2023. The reveal will happen during the morning show “Ö3 Wecker” on Hitradio Ö3, which starts at 06:40 CET.
The national broadcaster of Austria already revealed that its next contestant will be female.
What we know
We know that 15 acts were approached by Radio Producer, Eberhard Forcher, but also by Producer Lukas Hillebrand. These 15 acts (or most of them?) have been invited to come and do a live audition.
These audition tapes were reviewed by a jury of Austrian, as well as international, Eurovision experts, but also by a number of Eurovision fan clubs worldwide.
Eurovision 2022
In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 in Turin (Italy), Austria was represented by DJ Lum!x and Pia Maria with the song “Halo”. Unfortunately they did not make it into the Grand Final, because they ended in 15th place in Semi-final 1.
