Albania will select its representative for Junior Eurovision 2021 in a new edition of Junior Fest

A few hours ago, RTSH, Albanian public television, has exclusively communicated to ESCplus that, finally, it will carry out a national pre-selection to choose its representative in Junior Eurovision 2021, contrary to what several media published yesterday, suggesting an internal election by the entity.

The organization still does not clarify is whether this national final will end in a televised contest, online voting or internal selection by the RTSH, what is clear is that RTSH will use the Junior Fest brand to choose its representative in Paris 2021 .

RTSH invites all coomposers and performers to become participants of the Junior Fest 2021:

To participate in the selection it is required:

  • Submit the final version of the song.
  • Full song lyrics
  • Names of composers and lyricists
  • The song should be no longer than 3 minutes and no less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Participating singers must be between 9 and 14 years old.
  • The application period will be open until October 15.

The country confirmed to ESCplus last July a new edition of the children’s contest. Albania has used a national final to select its Junior Eurovision participants since its debut in 2012.

Albania will participate for the seventh time in Junior Eurovision next December, The country reached its best position in 2015, when Mishela Rapo came in fifth place with her song ‘Dambaje’. In the rest of the participations they have obtained a 12th place, two 13th places and two 17th places in the rankings, the last one achieved in 2019 by Isea Çili and hers Mikja Ime Fëmijëri
