Romania calls for songs for 2018 ‘Selecţia Naţională’

TVR has open public song submissions for their annual show ‘Selecţia Naţională’. Romania will go big with their 2018 national selection as it will be made up of six shows held in six different cities.

All interested singers and composers can send their applications until the 15th of December 2017 to the following address: Calea Dorobanţilor nr. 191, sector 1, Bucureşti („Pentru Selecţia Naţională Eurovision 2018”), or by e-mail to [email protected].

When the submission period is closed, the candidates will be required to perform at live auditions that will be held for three days, from December 18 to 20. A professional jury panel will shortlist 60 entries that will compete in the semi-finals of ‘Selecţia Naţională’. The announcement of candidates will take place on December 22, 2017.

Romanian national selection goes big in 2018:

Romania will go big with their 2018 national selection as they will select their next Eurovision representative from a long competition that will feature five semi-finals and a national final that will be held in six different cities around the country.

The Romanian national selection will be broadcast in January and February 2018. Each semi-final will see 15 songs compete for a final spot, but only three acts will go through after the voting of a professional jury panel. 15 songs will participate in the Romanian national final, where the winner will be selected by solely public vote.

Ilinca ft. Alex Florea represented Romania at this year’s Eurovision with the powerful tune ‘Yodel it!’, which led them to a 7th place in the Grand Final:
