Top European Destinations For Eurovision Fans

While Eurovision 2026 may seem like a lifetime away, now’s the perfect time to relive the nostalgia of previous competitions in some iconic destinations. Whether you’ve been a long-time fan of the contest or you’ve recently gained interest, here are some of the best places for Eurovision fans to visit on their holidays.

Malmö, Sweden

Having already hosted the contest three times in 1992, 2013, and 2024, Malmö in Sweden is one of the most iconic and beloved cities for Eurovision fans.

As a Eurovision super-fan, the Malmö Arena will probably be first on your list of places to visit, but there’s plenty of other things to see and do during your stay. Take a stroll around Lilla Torg – a square in the old part of Malmö with a quaint, traditional feel, colourful architecture, and lots of little shops and cafés to pick up a treat or two.

You could also visit the gothic Sankt Petri Kyrka – St. Peter’s Church, which dates back to the 14th century or take a stroll through the beautiful Kungsparken.

Dublin, Ireland

Dublin has hosted the Eurovision Song Contest more than any other city, a grand total of six times! The capital is also perfect for a city break, with loads of great attractions from the Guinness Storehouse to Dublin Castle.

Dublin is also home to several museums and galleries including the National Museum of Ireland, and the National Gallery of Ireland. Or spend some time in nature in one of the city’s beautiful parks and green spaces, like St Stephen’s Green or Phoenix Park.

If you’re visiting from overseas, or interested in your Irish roots, you’ll also want to stop by EPIC – The Irish Emigration Museum.

Berlin, Germany

Berlin is well-known for its vibrant nightlife scene and is ideal if you’re looking for LGBTQIA+ bars with Eurovision-themed events and karaoke contests.

If you’re unable to get tickets for the show itself, this is the next best thing. You can watch the show on big screens at the iconic Brandenburg Gate before hitting the post-show parties.

And if you’ve got time to squeeze in a bit of sightseeing, don’t miss Berlin Cathedral and the Reichstag Building for incredible architecture or the super-hip Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg (or Kreuzhain) district for independent shops, hip bars and colourful street art.

Vienna, Austria

Following the win of JJ in Basel with Wasted Love, Austria is set to host the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in the musical city of Vienna.

Birthplace of several notable composers and at one time home to both Beethoven and Mozart, Vienna is a music-lovers dream destination, so why not take the opportunity to get to know this beautiful city?

Whether you’re taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic streets, walking the incredible halls of Schönbrunn Palace or visiting the lush Belvedere Gardens, you won’t be disappointed. Who knows, you may even be lucky enough to get tickets to attend the show at Wiener Stadthalle on the 16th of May next year!
