TVR have announced details about their selection procedure for Eurovision 2017. The broadcaster will use Selecţia Naţională to select their entrant as they did in previous years, even in 2016 when they weren’t finally allowed to compete at the European event.
All interested singers and composers can now send their applications until the 22nd of January either by mail or on-line to [email protected]. The ones who prefer sending their applications by post, must do it to the following address: Calea Dorobanţilor nr. 191, sector 1, Bucureşti.

After the deadline, on January 25, 26 and 27, an expert committee will be responsible for selecting the 15 candidates that will go through to the live shows. Selecţia Naţională 2017 will be made up of two shows, a semi-final, that will be held on February 26, and a national final set to take place on March 5. The winner and Romanian representative will be selected by solely public vote.
Last year, Romania chose Ovidiu Anton as the winner of their national selection show, but the country couldn’t finally compete at Eurovision 2016 due to repeated non-payment debts. Everything seems to be in order now and Romania is ready to compete at Eurovision again!
