Betting Odds Shake Up Post Jury Show (Semi Final 1)

Russia is still holding on to the top spot in semi final 1. After last night’s jury show, the fans in the arena were loving the Russian entry. Whenever Sergey was featured on screen the crowd exclaimed. This is in stark contrast to the reports of boo-ing in last year’s competition.

Armenia’s Iveta Mukuchyan, stunned press and fans with her early performances allowing her to race up the betting odds charts. The odds are not counting Iveta out of possibly challenging favorites Ukraine and Russia. Iceland was also given a boost after a strong jury performance last night.

Azerbaijan has dropped in the betting odds. Azerbaijan along with Austria, Estonia and Hungry are all on the cusp when it comes to qualifying. At the bottom is San Marino, Montenegro, Moldova, and Finland. Could we be in for an “upset” at this year’s first semi final?

Alesia Michelle (USA)
I’m Alesia and I’m that rare American Eurovision fan. I’ve been obsessed since 2010. How could I not fall in love with a competition that has grandmothers, polish milkmaids, and rapping twins on stage?Although I love to sing, I leave it to the professionals to “wow” me. So I majored in Broadcast Journalism in college and am currently a radio personality in Washington, DC. with Mix 107.3 owned by Cumulus Media.I love to vlog, blog, and tweet. When I’m not behind my computer I’m at happy hour with my friends or figuring out what color to dye my hair.
