Meadow Isselt Loor, born in 2011 in Suriname, lives in Roermond, the Netherlands, with her parents Kelvin Isselt and Ankie Loor. Her older brother has already moved out but maintains a very close bond with the family. From a young age, she showed a passion for singing and dancing, which later turned into a vocation. She studies at the Vooropleiding Musical Valuascollege Institute in Venlo, where she combines academic training with music and theater. Among her classmates are Stef Smits from the group Level Up, and Luna Sabella, winner of Junior Eurovision 2022, with whom she maintains a friendship and collaborates on social media.

In 2023, she made her professional debut in The Bodyguard, playing Fletcher Marron. Her breakthrough came when she played young Elsa in Frozen. The Musical. Her theatrical talent also led her to voice acting: she was the voice of Noodle in Zo Werd Willy Wonka, Princess Ariel in the Disney Junior series, and Vaiana in Vaiana 2. Offstage, she is cheerful, curious, and organized. She dreams of having a rabbit, loves musical theater, and enjoys mathematics, although not economics. She spends much time in her room or the piano room, where she composes and rehearses. She has no specific idol; her goal is to release her own music and go on a world tour.

Her song for Junior Eurovision 2025, “Freeze,” created by the trio TalkSick (Daniel Van Der Molen, Elke Tiel, and Stas Swaczyna), combines Dutch and English in an electronic pop style influenced by The Chainsmokers and Calvin Harris. The song conveys a message of calm, resilience, and hope, inviting listeners to pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.

Meadow’s entry is titled “Freeze.” It is a contemporary pop song that combines Dutch and English to talk about the hectic pace of modern life and the need to take a pause and make space for reflection.

The song offers fresh, rhythmic pop with that Dutch touch that works so well in Junior Eurovision. From the rhythm, the dance, and a very catchy lyric, Meadow aims to convey an emotional message contrasting the tension of everyday life with the need to stop and relax the mind.

This is a song with which Meadow feels identified, as the young artist admits there are times when she struggles to “live in the moment” while balancing her busy schedule of talent classes and daily music lessons.

The constant repetition of the phrase “Take it easy” invites us to temporarily step away from the whirlwind of connected life and the daily pace to spend some time in calm and breathe.

Once again, the Netherlands embraces bilingualism in their entry, reinforcing the idea that stress and the need for breaks is a shared experience and a cultural bridge. In fact, this linguistic mix suggests that the solution to anxiety does not depend on a specific culture but on a universal human behavior.

The song offers practical advice to face pressure, connect with the body and one’s own feelings. Therefore, it invites a conscious interruption of the daily race to regain emotional control.

Thus, the slowdown against social speed focuses on the widespread feeling that time accelerates and the week “passes by” without us realizing it. Although time flies, the song proposes stopping to avoid getting lost and thus find our way. All this comes with a message of hope and resilience, emphasizing that inner calm can coincide with a positive external outcome.

In this way, the Dutch song proposes calm as a refuge amid the complexity of modern life, perhaps avoiding deeper solutions to structural problems. Meadow stresses the need to trust that “everything will be fine” if we put some distance for a moment from a fast-paced life.

Additionally, it is worth highlighting that the entry features a dance break where young Meadow shows that singing and dancing at the same time is something innate in her. She is accompanied by her dancers Hein, Dwayne, Milas, and Chaze.

“Freeze,” the original entry for Meadow, was composed by Elke Tiel, Stas Swaczyna, and Daniel Van Der Molen, with production by these authors alongside the musical department AVRO Muziekuitgeverij and Blue Skies Publishing.

The songwriting team behind “Freeze” has a long and successful career within the Junior Songfestival and the Dutch music world. Known musically as the trio TalkSick, they have composed songs for the Dutch preselection in previous editions. The name TalkSick is inspired by the old Dutch saying: “Niet lullen, maar poetsen” (Don’t talk, just do it), which encouraged them to learn and experiment.

The artistic trio TalkSick formed in 2019 when three friends decided to start composing together. Gradually, they gained great popularity and renown, which led them to sign with a record label in New York. Their first big hit was “Like Nobody,” featuring VAVO, which reached number 1 on the US Billboard Dance chart.

The style of songs composed by TalkSick is cheerful and energetic, although they also enjoy creating powerful ballads and epic songs, drawing inspiration from The Chainsmokers, Swedish House Mafia, Zedd, and Calvin Harris, as well as film composers like Hans Zimmer and John Williams. In many of their works, TalkSick fuses 80s and 90s music with current deep house pop.

Netherlands in Junior Eurovision

The Netherlands was one of the 16 founding countries of Junior Eurovision in 2003 and is the only one that has participated uninterruptedly in every edition. The public broadcaster AVROTROS organizes its participation. Throughout its trajectory, the country has achieved a single victory, in Kyiv 2009, with Ralf and his song Click Clack, which earned 121 points. Among its best placements are second place in Yerevan 2011 and fourth place in 2017, 2019, and 2020.

The country has hosted the contest twice: in 2007 at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam and in 2012 at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. Since 2003, AVROTROS has held the Junior Songfestival, one of the longest-running Junior Eurovision national selections and one of the most popular programs on the children’s channel Zapp. In it, viewers, a kids’ jury, and a professional jury choose the winner. Over the years, the format has changed: from semifinals and a grand final to the current single-show system, following months of auditions and internal processes.

In recent years, the Netherlands has regained prominence in the contest, especially after Luna’s standout performance in Yerevan 2022. Her song La Festa reached 7th place with 128 points, achieving the country’s best result since 2020. In 2023, Sep & Jasmijn maintained that position with Holding On To You, earning 122 points. In 2024, in Madrid, the group Stay Tuned obtained 10th place with Music and 91 points, although it rose to 7th place in the online public vote, consolidating the country’s connection with the festival and its competitive spirit.
