Eurovision Eurovision 2019 Malta

Two more contestants get eliminated from X-Factor Malta

The second live show of X-Factor Malta has just come to an end with two more acts eliminated. Eight candidates are still in the race to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

The initial twelve candidates were divided into four groups for the live shows, each of which was assigned to a jury member. This are the contestants that competed at today’s heat:

  • Boys (Ira Losco): Luke Chappell, Norbert Bondin and Owen Leuellen
  • Girls (Howard Keith Debono): Kelsey Bellante, Nicole Frendo and Michela Pace
  • Over 25s (Ray Mercieca): Petra and Ben Purplle
  • Groups (Alexandra Alden): 4th Line and Xtreme

The 7 most voted acts qualified for the next week’s show after the first voting round: Luke Chappell, Owen Leuellen, Kelsey, Michele Pace, Petra, Nicole Frendo and Norbert.

Then, it was announced that the act with the least amount of votes was Xtreme, so they were automatically eliminated. A sing-off between Ben Purplle and 4th Line later determined the last qualifier. This decision was up to the jury panel, which eliminated 4th Line. Thus, Ben Purplle made it through to the next show of X-Factor Malta.

All the X-Factor Malta performances are available on their official YouTube channel.
