Eurovision Eurovision 2019 Georgia

Tonight: Georgian idol premieres

Georgia begins its search for its Tel Aviv representative tonight on the debut of this year’s Georgia Idol – Star of Georgia.  Tonight’s show will be the first step in a journey towards the crowning of a winner on March 2.

Georgian broadcaster had previously announced that their version of Idol – Star of Georgia – would be the means for selecting the 2019 Eurovision entry after two years of non-qualification through internal selection.

The public will be able to vote for their favorite acts via both telephone voting as well as through the Facebook Messenger app.

On the jury of the show are:

  • Stephane Mgebrishvili (Eurovision Georgia 2009)
  • Natia Todua (Winner of The Voice Germany)
  • Tinatin Berdzenishvili (Director of Media at GPB)
  • Zaza Shengelia (CEO of Bravo Records)

Fans may remember Natia Todua, who also competed in Germany’s national selection for Eurovision for Lisbon with her entry, ‘My Own Way’.

Georgia Idol will be shown every Saturday at 19:00 CET.
