Eurovision Eurovision 2018 Hungary

Tonight: First Semi-Final of A Dal 2018 in Hungary

In Hungary this evening, the temperature cranks up, the pressure builds and the stakes get even higher as we reach the Semi-Final stage of the country’s ESC selection process.

The first nine of the eighteen acts who survived the heats of A Dal 2018 will join battle in a bid to secure a spot in the Final in two weeks’ time. They are:

  • Dánielfy Gergely: ‘Azt mondtad’
  • Gulyás Roland: ‘H Y P N O T I Z E D’
  • Ham ko ham: ‘Bármerre jársz’
  • Heincz Gábor BIGA: ‘Good vibez’
  • Knoll Gabi: ‘Nobody to die for’
  • Leander Kills: ‘Nem szól harang’
  • Maszkura és a Tücsökraj: ‘Nagybetűs szavak’
  • SativuS: ‘Lusta lány’
  • Süle Zsolt: ‘Zöld a május’

Tonight, there will be four places in the Final up for grabs. The first round of voting will produce three qualifiers, decided by combining scores from each of the four judges and the viewer vote (based on SMS, mobile app and online voting). A second round will then see an additional qualifier selected by a public vote.

The drama starts at 20:30 CET. As ever, the show will be hosted by the excellent Kriszta Rátonyi and ESC ‘old boy’ Freddie; the regular jury of judges – Károly Frenreisz, Judit Schell, Miklós Both and Misi Mező – will be on hand to dissect the performances and inject just the right amount of fear into the proceedings.
