Tonight, Eurovision 2019 officially opens when the city of Tel Aviv hosts its version of a traditional red carpet arrivals event. Instead of seeing our traditional red carpet for VIPs we will see an orange one.
The selection of the color orange has to do with the company My Heritage who is sponsoring many Eurovision events. My Heritage is campaigning its services to trace DNA roots to find out more about people’s histories and the stories that accompany that. Their logo is orange and is the inspiration behind the orange carpet taking place tonight.
The location of the event will be at Habima Square. The square is known for hosting many cultural events as it sits at the intersection of a few well known Tel Aviv arts institutions in center of the city. Locals comment that it is a great place to relax after work as it is home to public gardens.
Press and accredited fans will have the opportunity to greet and interview contestants and their delegations as they arrive for the opening party. You can watch today’s event live on our Multi-Window Feed at 18.00 CET.
