Today EMA 2018 will kick off in Slovenia with the Semi-Final broadcast live at 20.00 CET. Sixteen candidates will compete at this year’s national selection to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

All the songs competing in EMA will be performed in Slovenian at the Semi-Final. However, the singers will sing in the language they have chosen for Eurovision in the Final on 24th February.
At today’s show, eight acts will go through to the final, four of them selected by public audience vote and another eight entries by a professional jury panel. The overall winner will be selected by a 50/50 mix of public televoting and an expert committee.
