Switzerland: Update on 2019 internal selection!

Switzerland previously announced that it will be using an internal selection for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.  Switzerland has failed to qualify for the past few years.  Most notably, Zibbz failed to make the grand final last year in Lisbon despite a very well received live performance at Altice Arena.

In this year’s multi-stage selection process a 100-member audience panel and the 20-member international jury will narrow down the selections received.  The Swiss broadcasters SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR have been giving the possibility to assign wildcards.  The final decision will then be made by a split 50/50 vote between the audience panel and jury.

Today it was announced that the panel and jury are down to the final five! The final five will undergo a listening process with a final evaluation coming and selection reveal due in March.

What do you think of this new process?   Do you agree that a change was in order after the Swiss entries have not made it to the finals since Sebalter sang ‘Hunter of Stars’ in 2014?  Could it be Sebalter again that brings Switzerland back to the finals?  Let us know in the comments section below!
