Interesting result facts

• With the heat victory, Danny is the one who has won the most heats in Melodifestivalen’s history, a record he previously shared with Mariette. He has finished in first place in all of his five participations. With the spot in the final, he also holds the record for the most direct qualifications to the final in a row, along with Sanna Nielsen. In addition, he rose to second place on the list of the most final places in the modern Melodifestivalen. He has also gone directly to the final once as a songwriter, for Molly Sandén’s “Youniverse” (2016), a song that did not win its heat.

• With Dotter’s final place, songwriter Dino Medanhodzic continued his record streak, where he has now gone directly to the final from his heats with ten entries in a row. These nine entries are also all that he has competed with since his debut in 2019.

• Melodifestivalen’s winners have often had short song titles, but with Danny Saucedo and Dotter, the competition’s two longest song titles made it to the final. It has never happened in Melodifestivalen’s history that the combined length of the song titles in the two final entries from a heat has been this long – if you exclude the parenthesis in Jon Henrik Fjällgren feat. Aninia‘s record-long song title “En värld full av strider (Eatneme gusnie jeenh dåaroeh)” from 2017, where the Sami translation was never mentioned in the lyrics. Danny Saucedo’s “Happy That You Found Me” and Dotter’s “It’s Not Easy to Write a Love Song” together span 57 characters, which by a wide margin surpasses the previous record holder, final pair “Copacabanana” and “Only the Dead Fish Follow the Stream” from 2013 with its total of 48 characters. The shortest combined song title is “Air” and “Royals”, which made it to the final from the third heat of the 2023 competition.

• With Albin Tingwall remaining in the competition, Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt still has a chance to extend his record streak, where so far he has reached the final – directly or via the qualifying round – with eleven entries in a row.

Next week, the journey continues on the 2nd of March live from Karlstad, where another 6 acts will compete for the last golden tickets.
