More about Benidorm Fest 2023

The voting system is the same as in the 2 Semi-finals of Benidorm Fest 2023; there are 3 juries, a professionally jury, a demoscipic one, and there will be public voting. The accumulation of the three decides the winner.

Our prediction

Hereby the prediction of ESCplus International. We believe that Agoney and Blanca Paloma are the frontrunners of this national Grand Final, because both acts have songs that stick, and that you will remember after seeing all acts in the Eurovision 2023 Grand Final. Spain is one of the Big Five countries, and because of this the country does not have to compete in the Semi-finals.

If we have to choose as an “international”, we have to say that we have to go with Agoney, because his song is in Spanish and modern, which internationals like, and Blanca Paloma is more for the Spanish themselves, which is also great, because staying true to yourself is a wonderful virtue, but we believe that the Spanish song of Blanca Paloma does not appeal to international audiences as much. Chanel felt like J Lo, and that was great, because it appealed to the masses, but it was still in the Spanish language; Blanca might be too niche for that.

On the other hand, both songs, “if” it is going to be between Agoney and Blanca Paloma, are great.

Eurovision 2022

In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 Spain was represented by Chanel with the song “SloMo”; Chanel managed to come in 3rd (of 25) in the Grand Final. Since Spain is one of the Big Five countries, it does not have to compete in the Semi-finals.
