Slovenia: RTVSLO reveals details of EMA 2018

RTVSLO has revealed further details of their 2018 national selection for Eurovision. This year’s EMA will be made up of two shows,  a Semi-Final and a Grand Final that will take place on 24th February.

The Slovenian broadcaster has announced that Vid Valič will host both shows:

“Ema is that 25-year old girl that every host would love to ask to a dance. I am very honoured and can’t wait to glide with her across the small and big screens. My presence, however, will make it painfully clear who will be the worst singer there. So all that’s left to do is to select the best one.”, Valič commentend on his leading role.

Sixteen candidates will compete in the Semi-Final of EMA 2018, but only eight of them will go through to the final. Four of them will be selected by the professional jury panel, while the audience will choose the other four finalists.

All the songs competing in EMA will be performed in Slovenian at the Semi-Final. However, the singers will sing in the language they have chosen for Eurovision in the Final on 24th February.
