Romanian broadcaster TVR is ready to select their 2017 Eurovision entrant in late February and early March. The jury in charge of picking the acts throughout the whole process is made-up by the following singers and experts in the business: Luminiţa Anghel, Ovi Jacobsen, Adrian Romcescu, Paula Seling and Andrei Tudor. They all have represent Romania in the past, either as singers or composers.
All 5 members will starting auditioning the 72 entries shortlisted by TVR after catching up a total of 82, from tomorrow will the 29th of January. The recordings of the auditions will be broadcast in a series of TV transmissions on TVR, in the period running from the 5th till the 11th of February. This will be all aired on TVR2, TVR HD, TVR Moldova and TVR International, starting from 20.00 hrs onwards.
The 15 semi-finalists will be announced live during a live show on TVR2 on Sunday, February 12th. For the first time in Romania’s participation at the contest, the auditions will take place in TVR’s studio #3.
Local stars like, Lora, Mihai Trăistariu, Florin Chilian, Maxim, Ianna Novac, Tavi Colen and Emma, Tudor Turcu, Nora Deneş, Cristina Vasiu, Teodora Dinu or Ramona Nerra, but also foreign composers – Swedish, British and American- hope to represent Romania at the contest which will take place in Kiev, in May.
