“Goodbye” semi-finals, it is all set to “Yodel It” in Bucarest!
Tonight, the second and last semifinal of the well-known annual Selecţia Naţională in Romania took place in the city of Arad. The remaining 12 acts went on stage to compete for one of the 6 available remaining spots in the grand final which will take place next week in Bucarest. Ilinca Avram and Aurelian Temişan were the two hosts in charge of introducing this exciting evening to the Romanian public.
Alessandro Canino ft. Hit Italy served as the interval act at tonight’s show which again counted on the jury votes to decide the first five acts going on to the final and the Romanian audience votes for the very last qualifier, thus the following performances earned the ticket all the way to Bucarest. You can see the names making it through in bold:
- 2 Gents – Ielele (Fairies)
- Georgy – Tears
- Olivier Kaye – Right now (1st round qualifier – jury)
- Xonia – Discrete
- TWM – Make me your man
- Johnny Badulescu – Give up now
- Echoes – High heels on
- Aldo Blaga – Your journey (2nd round qualifier – televoting)
- Letitia Moisescu & Sensibil Balkan – Daina (1st round qualifier – jury)
- Laura Bretan – Dear Father (1st round qualifier – jury)
- Ester Peony – On a Sunday (1st round qualifier – jury)
- Linda Teodosiu – Renegades (1st round qualifier – jury)
The jury committee consisted of music and TV industry professionals made up of Adi Cristescu, Mihai Georgescu, Crina Mardare, Andy Platon and Mugurel Vrabete. For the final, an international jury has approached and it will be the equal combination of the votes from them and the Romanian televoting to decide the winning entry.
