Romania: Almost 100 applications collected!

TVR, the Romanian broadcaster in charge of the Eurovision Song Song Contest has reported that over 100 submissions have been received from not only Romanian songwriters and singers but also from Norway, Sweden, Australia, UK  or Germany. They all are hoping to represent Romania in the forthcoming Eurovision edition in Vienna.

From today on till Wednesday, a jury panel will evaluate all the candidates and will pick 12 of them, who will be presented on a special press-conference at the TVRO headquarters in Bucarest. According to TVRO, some of the names who could have a spot in the national final, if they made it through when shortlisting, are Voltaj, Nicola, Ovidiu Lipan Ţăndărică, Luminiţa Anghel, Ozana Barabancea, Trooper or Amna feat. Glance as well as two recognised songwriters for the Romanian scene, such as Andrei Tudor or Mihai Alexandru. The final 12 names are set to be revealed on Thursday, February 12.

The final show of Selectia Nationala will take place in Craiova at the Polyvalent Hall (capacity for 4.215 on seating category) on TVR’s first channel, not specific time yet, to be revealed in coming days.
