Poland 2024: It is Luna for Poland!

This morning it became known that Luna with the song “The Tower” will represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö (Sweden). This news was released by the Polish national broadcaster, TVP.

Internal selection

This year Poland picked its representative internally, unlike last year when a televised national final ended in a scandal. Luna was picked from about sixty artists that were willing and able to represent their country in the upcoming contest in Sweden. Luna will sing the song “The Tower”, which in considered to be an alternative pop song that is meant for Luna’s vocal range and siren-like voice. One of Luna’s competitors in the internal selection was Justyna Steczkowska, a hot favourite to compete for Poland, but eventually it was Luna who took the crown.

The Polish national broadcaster, TVP had a voting sequence in which the five members of the Competition Commission cast their votes. Luna won with a mere one point more than the runner-up, Justyna Steczkowska (Luna had 34 points and Justyna 33).

About Luna

Luna is a 24-year old artist from Poland. At the moment Luna studies at the University of Warsaw. This artist is multi-talented as she plays the violin and the piano, and next to this, she is a songwriter in both the Polish as well the English language. She is also a yoga instructor. Luna’s biggest musical influences are Nick Cave and Björk.

The Tower

The song that Luna is going to sing in Eurovision 2024 is called, “The Tower”. The song is produced in the UK by Luna herself, together with Fyfe and Max Cooke.

When will Poland compete in Eurovision 2024?

Poland’s Luna with her song, “The Tower”, will compete in the first half of the first Semi-final on May 7th 2024.

Who competed for Poland in Eurovision 2023?

In the contest of 2023, in Liverpool (UK), Poland was represented by Blanka with the song “Solo”. Although last year’s Polish entry was controversial, Blanka managed to keep cool, and ended 3rd (of 16) in Semi-final 2, and eventually came in 19th (of 26) in the 2023 Grand Final.
