This is a lesson in how not to do a revamp. If you watch my video blogs on Eurovision, it’s no mystery that I really liked Albania’s entry. Eneda’s vocals are strong and deserve better. I urge Albania to perform the version with Albanian lyrics in Stockholm, Sweden.
The english lyrics to this song lack depth and simply seem out-of-place. Eneda’s vocals are still strong but without the orchestral backing of the original, the song falls flat. The styling in the music video is also confusing. Eneda is a grown woman swinging around an odd forest… It isn’t good.
Albania is looking like a solid non-qualifier right now and I’m sad about it. I really liked the original version. Missed opportunity.
