Eurovision 2016 Review – Armenia

They tell me she isn’t related to the Kardashians, but I need to see the DNA test (just kidding). Confession: it took me 4 times to get into this. Now that I’ve had some time to absorb this offering, I love it. I won’t tell you the title of the playlist this in under but my girlfriend has it stuck in her head.

The song and music video are really avant-garde. I like that Armenia is taking a risk with this song. Iveta Mukuchyan, has smokey rock vocals that contrast the electro-pop synths. Iveta is taking part in semi-final one which is tough. I don’t know if this will make it to the finals. The avant-garde quality may prove too “art” for the juries and televoters.

“Love Wave” will stand out in Stockholm this May but may struggle to get out of the semis (I hope not). The song reminds me a little of Latvia’s entry last year but it’s a little better. “Love Injected” was good but I’m not still listening to it. I think “Love Wave” will sit comfortably in my music rotation for years to come.

Do you want Armenia in the Eurovision 2016 finals?
