Norway 2023: Three acts qualify for the next national phase

Tonight the second Semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix 2023 was held in Norway, and we know now that 3 acts  will move on to the national Grand Final of Norway.

Melodi Grand Prix 2023

The second Semi-final of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2023 is over, and 3 acts have made it into the next stage, the Grand Final of Norway. In total 7 acts competed in this second Semi-final, and just 3 progressed to the next phase of the Norwegian national selection. The names and songs in bold are the ones that will progress.

  • JONE — Ekko inni meg
  • Sandra Lyng — Drøm d bort
  • Alejandro Fuentes — Fuego
  • Swing’it — Prohibition
  • Elsie Bay — Love you in a dream
  • Ella — Waist
  • Bjørn Olav Edvardsen — Turn Off My Heart

The first Norwegian Semi-final

In the first Norwegian Semi-final also 3 acts made it to the next round, these acts were the following:

  • Alessandra Mele — Queen of King
  • Umami Tsunami — Geronimo
  • Ulrikke — Honestly

Notable name

In the first Semi-final of Norway’s national final Ulrikke competed, and will proceed to the next stage of the Norwegian selection. Ulrikke was bound to compete for Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), but because of the global COVID-19 pandemic this contest got cancelled.

Eurivision 2022

In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 in Turin (Italy) Norway was represented by Subwoolfer with the song “Give That Wolf A Banana“; the yellow alien wolfs came in 6th place in Semi-final 1, and eventually managed to get the 10th spot in the Grand Final.
