LRT has just revealed the names of the 28 candidates that will be competing at this year’s Lithuanian national selection for Eurovision 2016!

The announcement has taken place during a special press conference held in the LRT headquarters where the broadcaster have revealed more about “Eurovizijos 2016”.
The Lithuanian national selection will be formed by 9 shows:
Show 1 and 2 – artists perform songs submitted by the authors
All entrants will perform the competing songs submitted by the authors and selected by the Host Broadcaster, no less than 10. Following the audience and the Jury vote, 50% of the entries, receiving the least number of points, will be eliminated from the competition; the same will happen with the songs.
Show 3 and 4 – artists perform their songs
All entrants will perform the competing song they have chosen, no less than 10. Following the audience and the Jury vote, 50% of the entries, receiving the least number of points, will be eliminated from the competition; the same will happen with the songs.
Show 5 – artists perform songs submitted by the authors
All entrants ranked from 1 to 5 in the 1st and 2nd shows will perform songs as submitted by the authors, no less than 10. Following the audience and the Jury vote, 50% of the entries, receiving the least number of points, will be eliminated from the competition; the same will happen with the songs.
Show 6 – Semi-Final 1
All entrants ranked from 1 to 5 in the 3rd and 4th shows will perform their songs, no less than 10. Following the audience and the Jury vote, 50% of the entries, receiving the least number of points, will be eliminated from the competition; the same will happen with the songs.
Show 7 – Semi-Final 2
All entrants ranked from 1 to 5 in the 5th and 6th shows will perform their songs, no less than 10. Following the audience and the Jury vote, 50% of the entries, receiving the least number of points, will be eliminated from the competition; the same will happen with the songs.
Show 8 – Grand Finale
All entrants ranked from 1 to 5 in the 7th show will perform their songs, no less than 10. Following the audience and the Jury vote, the Winning Performer and the Winning Song of the Selection will be announced.
In case of a tie, when performers receive an equal number of votes, the Jury will decide the Winning Performer of the Selection.
Show 9 – The Winning Performer’s Support Concert (LIVE)
(If the winner refuses to go to the Eurovision Song Contest, the Jury will decide which of the other finalists should replace it)
Eurovizijos 2016 will kick-off on January 9 and it will be hosted by Gerūta Griniūtė along with d’Andrius Rožickas.
