Liene Greifane and Edgars Kreilis are safely through to the final and still on course to become Latvia’s next Eurovision representative.
Semi-final 1 of Supernova 2018 flew by in a flash of smoke, flashing studio lights and bold camera shots. And from the haze of fabulousness, two winners emerged victorious to head directly to the final: Liene Greifane with “Walk The Talk” and Edgars Kreilis with “Younger Days”. Both acts will compete in the grand final on February 24th.
This year has been a big year of change for the Latvian national selection. Not only are the semi-finals in a new format, the rest of Supernova is changing too. One of the most significant change is the voting system. Fans in Latvia can only vote once by SMS and call. Previously, there was no limit to the number of votes that could be cast in this way. This brings it in line with the “one vote only” rule applied to the online voting, which remains.
