A few weeks ago, the Georgian broadcaster released an open call for artists aged 9-14 years in order to find the right candidate to wave the national flag in Tbilisi. A number of candidates have recently faced a live audition from which a professional jury panel selected the next Georgian representative at Junior Eurovision.

The jury panel for the live audition was made up of producer Zaza Shengelia, singer Maia Baratashvili, musician David Evgenidze; and GPB’s music editor Eliso Shengelia and voice director George Asanishvili.

Although the candidates were initially asked to send their original songs, the Georgian broadcaster has announced that the 2017 representative will be given a song for the competition. The composer will be selected from an open competition of which no details have been revealed yet. However, it’s interesting to know that the one and only Giga Kukhianidze has composed almost every Georgian entry in the history of Junior Eurovision, so he is likely to be the composer of this year’s entry.
