Junior Eurovision: FYR Macedonia is back in the game!

The summer season is still on and some countries are preparing its respective processes to select an act for the contest in November but now we are glad to bring some exciting news: some minutes ago, the Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Mr. Vladislav Yakovlev has confirmed via Twitter that another country is back in the competition this year. It’s no other than the Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia!

The country made its first appearance in 2003 with the song ”Ti ne me poznavaš” performed by Marija & Viktorija and kept on entering until 2011, when Dorijan Dlaka’s ”Zhimi Ovoj Frak” only managed to catch 31 points and the 2nd last place in Yerevan. They decided to come back in Kiev 2013 with Barbara but another dissapointing result was scored. The country got its best result in both 2007 and 2008, occupying the 5th place on the final scoresheet.

It’s still unknown whether MKRTV will opt for either an open submission-proccess and public national final or an internal selection, which it is expected to be revealed in coming days, on its due course. Right after this, the list of participating nations grows up to 13 nations now, while the EBU is still excited and hoping to catch as many countries as possible. Some others like San Marino, Russia or Spain could reveal its plans shortly.

Stay tuned for further news and the latest updates about this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, taking place in Sofia’s Armeec Arena on the 21st of November!
