Marco Mengoni has won the Festival di Sanremo 2023 last night, which is also the Italian national selection to decide who is going to the Eurovision Song Contest. The annual rules of the Sanremo Festival
The annual rule of the Sanremo Festival is that although an artist has won, he or she can still refuse to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest. If so, then another artists will be chosen to go to the contest for Italy.

Eurovision 2013
