September has commenced, this means that it is time for the new Eurovision season. The upcoming contest will take place in the Swiss city of Basel on May 13th, 15th, and 17th 2025 in the St. Jakobshalle, after Nemo’s win with his song “The Code” during the contest of 2024 in Malmö (Sweden).
How many countries will be in Eurovision 2025?
Up to now 24 countries have confirmed that they will perform in the upcoming contest in Basel; which countries you can find below. In the upcoming weeks there will be more countries added to the participants list, but there will also be updates about the selection process of each country.

Are there any surprises already?
Yes, because Montenegro makes its return next year after the contest a hiatus of two Eurovision seasons. The last time Montenegro participated was back in 2022 with Vladana who sang the song “Breathe”, ending in 17th position (of 18) in Semi-final 2.
What is known about Cyprus?
There are rumours that Cyprus has already selected a singer and song for the 2025 contest. Supposedly it is a young male singer, and the announcement of who it is might be as soon as this month. If this is true, we do not know yet, but when we do, we are sure to inform our followers.
What do we know about the Netherlands?
After the disqualification of Dutch 2024 participant, Joost Klein, the Netherlands’ participation in the 2025 is up in the air, especially now that became known that Joost’s case was dropped in Sweden, because of lack of proven evidence. Dutch public broadcaster, AVROTROS, has stated that a decision on a 2025 still needs to be made, and that the verdict might come as soon as this month (September 2024).
