The rumor mill of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Italy’s Turin is in full swing. More and more the name of world-famous Italian singer Laura Pausini is being mentioned to be the host or one of the hosts of 2022’s Eurovision shows. It would not be a wild card to let Laura Pausini host next year’s shows, since the PalAlpitour Arena has been one of the sold-out Italian venues of Pausini’s concerts for years.
Who is Laura Pausini?
Pausini shot to world-fame when her song “La Solitudine” was released in 1993. In that same year Pausini won the San Remo Festival, the show that these days determines the Italian contestant for the Eurovision Song Contest. Laura Pausini is already famous for years in Europe, but also in Spanish- and Portuguese-language countries outside of the European continent. Pausini has also released music in English. This female Italian singer has already been nominated for a Grammy and an Oscar. In this regard, Laura Pausini would be the ideal host for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.
The San Remo Festival
The last couple of years Laura Pausini has been asked by the organization of the San Remo to return to the festival, but not as a singer, but as a host, because of her international allure, and her experience with hosting grand shows, like international award events.
Other possible Italian hosts
The Italian National Broadcaster RAI has made no secret of being in negotiation with TV presenter Alessandro Cattelan, the former host of the Italian version of X-Factor, to be the host or one of the hosts of the upcoming contest in May of 2022. Also Milly Carlucci, the host of the Italian Dancing with the Stars, has been in negotiation with RAI. Next to the three mentioned earlier in this text, also Italian influencer, and rapper wife, Chiara Ferragni, is being mentioned.
For now these names are only rumors, during the upcoming months we will get more clarity about how the song contest of 2022 will be organized. Do not forget to check ESC-plus.com to stay posted about all things Eurovision!
