Ireland: TG4 reveals Junior Eurovision Éire 2018 show dates

TG4 has revealed some details about the broadcast of their national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The 4th edition of the Irish competition will kick off on TV on October 14 while the final will be aired on November 11.

As in previous editions, 32 hopefuls will compete for over 5 weeks of shows to represent Ireland at Junior Eurovision. Their performances will be watched closely by a panel of judges who will select the next Irish representative. All candidates, who have been selected from live auditions held nationwide, will perform original songs written in the Irish language.

Remember that the winner of the Irish national selection for Junior Eurovision 2018 will have already been chosen by the time the episodes start but the name will be kept as a secret until the broadcast of the final show. Don’t worry, the delegation will submit the entry before the contest’s deadline!

The schedule for the 2018 Irish shows is as it follows:

  • First Semi-Final – October 14th
  • Second Semi-Final – October 21th
  • Third Semi-Final – October 28th
  • Fourth Semi-Final – November 4th
  • Final – November 11th

Eoghan Mc Dermott will be the host of all five shows of Junior Eurovision Éire 2018, which will be broadcast on Sundays at 21.30 CET.
