I got to spend some time in Sweden this past August. I knew I had to catch up with one of my favorite Melfest girls, Ace Wilder. I’ve been addicted to her music ever since she came on to the scene at Melodifestivalen with Busy Doin’ Nothing. She is still making great music and it was awesome to ask Ace all the questions you want answers to.
The buzz for her to return to Melodifestivalen are at their peak and many say she has what it takes not only to win Melfest, but Eurovision 2016 itself. Could it be? We sit down to talk about Swedish fashion, her favorite single, what Sweden is like and more. Although she isn’t confirmed for a Melfest run. I think she’d be stiff competition. Other potential acts gaining social media buzz are Alcazar, Dinah Nah, and Carola.
Alcazar are Melfest pros and a seasoned group that’s been around since 1999. Could they have the ABBA meets Loreen touch that would garner Sweden a historic Eurovision 2016 win? Carola already gave Sweden a win, so I think she could sit this year out. Dinah Nah may try again and could bring some perfectly produced Scandi-pop magic to the stage. Melodifestivalen has been going down for 14 years and is one of the best (in my opinion) Eurovision preliminaries in all of Europe. This year will no doubt be competitive. Who wouldn’t want to perform while repping their home country in their home country? The Melfest tour kicks off February 6th in Gothenburg.
