Luminița Anghel: “I will be honoured to be on the ESC stage again, to have the opportunity to beat my own record” (Romanian finalist – Interview)

ESC+Plus has talked to Luminița Anghel, finalist of the Romanian national selection “Selectia Nationala” and Eurovision 2005 representative. Luminița will sing “A Million Stars” in the final set on March 8.

ESC+Plus: Hello Luminița! Firstly congratulations on having been selected to compete at Selectia Nationala 2015.

Thank you, my sweet friend.

E+: Can you tell us about your musical evolution and important achievements?

I have started 25 years ago, I have developed a lot of projects, mostly on TV business, like talk show, SitCom TV Series, Serial movie, Radio MC, been collaborated with Disney to do voice on Cartoon movies, a lot of concerts in the country, but outside also, organized big musical events and concerts in Romania, including big names such as Jose Carreras, Joe Cocker, Tom Jones, Enrique Iglesias. I have also participate on a lot of national and foreign song festivals, most of them as a winner for the best voice.

E+: Why did you decide to take part in Selectia Nationala 2015?

After the 2013 disappointment, involve the “Unique” song, I had decided to never come back on the National Selection. However, I did passed a lot of songs that came to me. It was a last-minute decision, for this year, when I’ve been listening to “A Million Stars”, written by a fully Romanian team.

E+: What it would mean for you to represent Romania for the second time?

I will be honoured to be on the ESC stage again, to have the opportunity to beat my own record and to meet my Eurovision fans.

 

 

E+: As you mentioned before, this isn’t the first time yo take part at Selectia Nationala as you were in the competition back in 2010 and 2013. What can these experiences contribute to your new attempt?

I don’t want looking back for this. For this year, I feel powerful than ever and my only hope it is that the jury will have the correct decision and I wish to have the best act on 8th of March.

E+: Ten years ago you represented Romania at Eurovision finishing third. How do you remember this experience? How did your life change after Eurovision?

I felt very proud of this result and I know it that I have a lot of fans after this years, outside Romania. Also, my invitation in Madrid 2012, by OGAE Spain mean a lot for me and I do want to send them hugs and kisses.

E+: Can you tell us about your song “A Million Stars” and the story behind the lyrics? How was the cooperation with the composer, Andrei Tudor?

The song was written 1 year ago. They didn’t find the right interpreter for it and they were very pleased to collaborate with me. The lyrics are about a beautiful love feelings. I know Andrei since he was a little boy, we did collaborate before on concerts with The Big Band Radio, I have a lot of faith in him, he is sensitive and has a lot of taken and he is a hard worker.

 

 

E+: Have your started preparing your stage performance? Can you reveal us anything about it?

We are on the last details of this concept and we do a lot of promoting it at the TV, Radio and Internet. The show has to be a surprise, so will keep it that way.

E+: What are your main strengths so as to get the people support to reach Eurovision?

We believe that it is the proper ballad for the ESC, has an experienced artist with a strong voice and a beautiful show.

E+: Do you have any favourite song among the other Romanian finalists?

Yes, Tudor Turcu’s song. I love his voice.

E+: Do you usually watch Eurovision? Do you have any favourite song in the history of the contest?

I watch every year the Eurovision phenomena, but when I participate, I never listening to the others songs, because I don’t want to get influenced. All I do it is to concentrate myself on our project.

 

 

E+: Besides Eurovision, what are your plans for this year?

I’ve started a new project for a new single and a new album.

E+: Finally, would you like to send a message for our readers?

I hope you like my song, A Million Stars and I hope listening to your heartbeats also for me at Vienna. I have such a big faith in my Spanish fans and “Un beso” for all!
