Krisia: “I will wear a long and beautiful dress” (Exclusive Interview)

ESC+Plus.com has exclusively had a talk with the little Bulgarian princess Krisia Todorova who will represent her country along with the talented pianists Ibrahim and Hasan Ignatov. Check out what she has told us:

ESC+Plus: Hello Krisia! First of all, congratulations on having been selected to represent Bulgaria at Junior Eurovision 2014!

Hello! Thank you!

E+: How did you feel when Slavi proposed you to represent Bulgaria at Junior Eurovision? What was the first idea which came to your mind at that moment?

In the beginning it wasn’t clear for me what exactly was going to happen. After I realized what my task was and the trust that people had in me, I was extremely happy. I know that I need to work very hard to do my best to present my country Bulgaria.

E+: Talented pianists Ibrahim and Hasan will be with you on the stage in Malta, can you tell us about them? Had you performed together before?

I met Hasan and Ibrahim before the recording of the song. They are wonderful, very talented boys. We became great team together very quickly and we get along very well.

E+: The video where you appear covering Beyonce’s Listen has more than five millions of plays and more than 30.000 likes, how do you feel about that?

I am really glad that people like my performances. Music is what makes me feel happy and feel myself. I am glad that my performances make people happy.

E+: What’s your song about? What do you want people feel while listening to your song?

My song carries a message to all people around the world. For peace, for hope, that we all be together and be happy.

E+: How was the composition procedure? How have you spent the last weeks since this JESC adventure started? Are you having any special preparations?

We discussed the idea for the lyrics together with Ivaylo Valchev from “Slavi’s Show” team. I spoke about my dreams and feelings which I had when I heard the music for the song. I imagined a children’s fairytale world in which there is a lot of beauty. This is how the lyric was born. Every day I go in the “Centre for work with Children” in Ragzrad every day where I rehearse with my vocal teacher Svilena Decheva. My rehearsals continue around 2 hours. I also learn other songs. My family helps me too.

E+: How do you feel reading all the positive feedbacks you can find around your song?

I am happy that we have been able to move and inspire people with the song.

E+: You have shot an official clip so as to premiere your song, how was the shooting of the videoclip? Was there any funny anecdote you can tell us?

This was one of my best days ever. It was very interesting, great experience and fun. I didn’t even notice how time flew. The shooting started at 6:00 a.m. and ended at 5:00 p.m. When everything was over I said that I want us to shoot a music video every day. I am thankful to the wonderful team.

E+: What do you do just before going on stage? Do you carry any lucky charm during your performances?

I don’t have a lucky charm to carry with me. But each time before I go on stage I think about something good and I say a short prayer quietly to myself.

E+: How do you feel while singing on stage?

I love the stage. I feel free and happy on stage.

E+: Is your song to be revamped for Junior Eurovision or you will keep it as the original one?

It won’t be changed.

E+: It is too soon maybe but, have you already decided about how your stage performance will look like? And the costume you will be wearing?

My costume is ready. I will be with a long and very beautiful dress.

E+: The stage design has been presented, what do you think about it? About the motto #together?

I think that the stage is incredibly beautiful. The motto “together” is very good, because only when we are together we can succeed in making the world a better place.

E+: You are one of the youngest participants at this year’s Junior Eurovision? How do you feel about that?

I don’t know, I want to feel as a participant among equals.

E+: Tell us more about yourself, favourite music style, favourite school subject, hobbies, musical career… Do you play any instrument?

I listen to different kinds of music, I like pop and jazz most of all. In my free time I love to draw and to go outside. I enjoy going to school and all subjects are interesting for me. Mathematics is my favorite. In addition to singing I also take piano and modern dance. I love animals very much. I go fishing with my father.

E+: If you could be invisible for a day what would you do?

I have sometimes wanted to be invisible just for the fun of it, but I think that for the important things a person needs to be visible so that they can be heard and understood. So I don’t want to be invisible, even for a day.

E+: Can you send a message for our readers and Junior Eurovision fans?

I want to wish everyone to be happy, to believe in their dreams and to live with love, for everything and everyone!
