Interview Eurovision Eurovision 2016 Hungary

Ív: “People do not want to hear any strict or serious music, that’s why my music could be successful at Eurovision” (Hungarian candidate – Interview)

ESC+Plus has talked to Ív, candidate of this year’s Hungarian national selection for Eurovision, “A Dal 2016”. The singer will perform “Love Kills Me” in the third heat to take place today:

ESC+Plus: Hello! First of all, thank you so much for your time and congratulations on having been selected to take part in Hungarian national selection for Eurovision 2016.

Can you tell us about you, your musical career and important achievements?

Music was very important in my whole childhood. I can remember when my father tried to teach me how to hit the drum, or later…how to play piano…but I knew that singing is my real way.

E+: What impelled you to take part in “A Dal 2016”?

The huge pressure to take part in A DAL this year is coming from inside somehow…:) Last year I had a very good experience in A DAL, so I wanted to try it.

E+: How did you feel when you knew you had been selected for “A Dal 2016”? Did you expect it?

I didn’t expect it but hoped it! 🙂

E+: What it would mean for you to represent Hungary?

It would mean like a huge dream becoming true! It would be an extremely big honour to go to Stockholm.

E+: Can you tell us about your song? What is the story behind the lyrics?

We do not have any message in our song, because this music is so “easy”, so fresh…, so we didn’t want to fill it with a big content. Instead, we wrote a song which can make U happy and put a smile on your face. 🙂

E+: Why do you think your song has to be selected for Stockholm? What are you strengths to reach the top in the competition?

People don’t want to hear all time BBC or News…right? Then people do not want to hear any strict or serious music…about war for example…. That’s why my music could be successful at the contest.

E+: How are you preparing your stage performance for “A Dal 2016”?

We have rehearsals, voice trainings, dance practice every day for hours. It’s gonna be cool! 🙂

E+: Do you usually watch Eurovision? What are your favorite songs in the history of the competition?

Yess of course! I liked AMINATA’s Love Injected last year very very much!!!

E+: If you could choose a Eurovision former participant to sing along with, who would it be?

Aminata, I’m sure about that 🙂

E+: Besides Eurovision, what are your plans for this year?

Hopefully I’ll have many concerts this summer. I will publish my little EP, then, the big LP, that’s what I plan.

E+: Finally, can you send a message for our readers and Eurovision fans?

Just listen to music all the time ’cause music is a medicine against every human disease…:)

E+: Thanks for your time and good luck!
