Exclusive video interview with Nadia Malm from DMGP 2014: “My fans are going to recognize me in the song”

We have now reached part 7 of our Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014 introduction series, where we are introducing the 10 artist that will compete in Odense on March 8^th.

Today it’s time for Nadia Malm, who will sing song number 7 in the running order. It’s called Before You Forget Me, and Nadia Malm has written it herself. But Nadia has another talent besides music. Find out what that is and more in our interview below.

 

Nadia Malm was born on October 22^nd 1986. She grew up in a very musical family and plays both piano and guitar. Her musical carreer begun, when she competed in the 2^nd season of the reality competition Idols. The judges quickly noticed Nadia’s strong voice and she made it all the way to the live shows. Unfortunaly Nadia didn’t end up as the winner, but her experiences in the show made her realise, that being a singer was the only thing Nadia could imagine herself doing.

Nadia Malm’s big breakthrough on the Danish music scene came in 2011, when she was featured on the popular Danish dj duo Svenstrup & Vendelbo’s single Dybt Vand. The song became a huge hit in Denmark, reaching the 1^st place on the Danish singles chart and selling platinum. Because of the great success of Dybt Vand, Svendstrup and Vendelbo decided to release yet another single with Nadia Malm. The new song Glemmer Dig Aldrig was another smash hit, as it sold double platinum, was as high as 2^nd on the Danish singles chart, and won all 3 awards it was nominated for at the Danish DeeJay Awards in 2013. In 2012, she released her first single on her own called En Som Er Din (Jeg Gi’r Slip), and it was followed up by another single in 2013, Uafhængig, both also doing well on the Danish singles chart. On March 8^th; Nadia Malm will for the first time perform a song written all by herself at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014, and she’s hoping Before You Forget Me will become yet another hit of hers.
