Esc+Plus has talked with Demie & Janice, semifinalists of the Estonian national selection for Eurovision 2015. The duet will sing the song “Kuum” in the Second Semi-Final of “Eesti Laul” 2015 set on February 14th.
ESC+Plus: Hello Demie & Janice! Firstly, we would like to know more about you. Can you tell us about your musical career?
Janice: I started singing when I was 3 years old. When I turned 15, I recorded my first single. I have been in various pop-bands. Three years ago I decided to be my own boss and since then I make music that I love. Also I like to make different collaborations.
Demie: I started writing music about 12 years ago. Music is my whole life. It is everything to me!
E+: How did you decided entering “Eesti Laul” 2015 together as a duet?
Janice wrote to Demie and he agreed to collaborate, our teamwork went fine. We did not write that song “Kuum” especially for Eesti Laul 2015. The idea to send “KUUM” to the contest came later.
E+: What it would mean for you to represent Estonia in Vienna?
Janice: This would make my dream come true and it would also be a great honour for me to represent my country.
Demie: Same as Janice said. It would mean everything to me!
E+: Your song is called “Kuum”. Can you tell us about the song and the story behind the lyrics?
This song is about two lovers, how they fall in love. Their relationship is very passionate and hot, KUUM is HOT in English.
E+: How are you preparing your semi-final performance? Can you reveal us anything about it?
Like the rest, we are having rehearsals 🙂

Demie: You will have to turn on your TV on 14th of February to see it live! 😉
E+: What are your main strengths so as to get the support of juries and televote to reach Eurovision?
We love what we do and we hope that our positivity reaches the viewers.
E+: If you win Eesti Laul 2015, would you sing in English or Estonian at Eurovision? Would you do a new version of the song?
Our song would stay as it is. I think Estonian language is beautiful!
E+: What can this competition contribute to your musical careers?
It is a good promotion for every artist.
E+: Do you have any favourite song among the other “Eesti Laul” 2015 candidates?
Unfortunately, we haven’t listened to all the semifinalist songs yet.
E+: Do you usually watch Eurovision?
Yes! We watch it every year.
