Anne Gadegaard: “I was so blessed to experience JESC before Denmark sadly withdrew” (DMGP finalist – Interview)

ESC+Plus has talked to Anne Gadegaard, one of the ten luck acts selected for DMGP, Danish national final for Eurovisión 2015. Anne will sing “Suitcase” on February 7.

ESC+Plus: Hello Anne! First of all congratulations on having been selected as a DMGP finalist. Why did you decide to take part in DMGP 2015?

I’ve always been a big fan on DMGP so when I had the chance to participate my answer was “YES”. And this is a song that I can really relate to, I love it so much.

E+: What would mean for you represent Denmark in Vienna?

Obviously it would be a big honour, but my thoughts are only on the DMGP for now 🙂

E+: Your song is called “Suitcase”. Can you tell us about the song and the story behind the lyrics?

It’s a story about a girl leaving her home town to pursue her dream. I think it’s very nice not to tell another love story, but really give people something to think about.

E+: Have you started preparing your stage performance? Can you reveal us anything about it?

I can’t give away any details for now. sorry! 😀

E+: What are your main strengths to as to get the support of the audience to win “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix”?

I just hope that people like the song and my performance. that is the most important thing.

E+: If you win DMGP 2015, would you sing in English or in Danish at Eurovision?

The song is already in english , so english obviously.

E+: What can this competition contribute to your musical career?

I haven’t really thought that far. for now i just want to be in the moment.

E+: Do you have any favorite song among the other DMGP finalists?

It’s hard to pick a favourite, there are some very good songs!

E+: Do you usually watch Eurovision? Do you have any favorite song in the history of the contest?

ALWAYS! Brødrene Olsen with “Fly On The Wings Of Love” is an amazing song!

E+: You were the first Danish representative at Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2003. How do you remember that experience?

It was an amazing experience! I loved the Junior Eurovision so much, and I was so blessed to experience it before Denmark sadly withdrew.
