ESC+Plus has talked to Adrijana, semifinalist of this year’s Swedish national selection for Eurovision. The singer will perform “Amare” in the Melodifestivalen first semi-final to take place on February 4th.
ESC+Plus: Hello! First of all, thank you so much for your time and congratulations on having been selected to take part in the Swedish national selection for Eurovision 2017!
Can you tell us about you, your musical career and important achievements?
Adrijana: My career started about 1 year ago when I released a hip hop trap cover on og bobby, it got a lot of attention and that was also how my manager found me. Since then, I have been working very hard, recording a lot of songs and I also signed to Universal Music in October 2016
ESC+Plus: What impelled you to take part in “Melodifestivalen 2017”?
Adrijana: It was mine and my managers idea that I could participate with this song because it has that Melodifestivalen feeling.
ESC+Plus: How did you feel when you knew you had qualified for the semi-final? Did you expect it?
Adrijana: When I got the phone call I could not believe my eras, this is a dream came true I did not expect this at all.
ESC+Plus: What would it mean to you to represent Sweden?
Adrijana: It would mean the world to me. When I was little me and my family watched Eurovision and I said to my mom every time we watched it that one day I would be on that stage.
ESC+Plus: Can you tell us about your song? What is the story behind the lyrics?
Adrijana: I wanted words that would get stuck on people’s head then I though of love, but I wanted it in a different language so I chose Latin – Amare. It’s about more cool love when you are craving love from someone in a very flirty way 😉
ESC+Plus: Why do you think your song has to be selected for Kiev? What are you strengths to reach the top in the competition?
Adrijana: My song is young, fresh and strong and I think that Amare is just that type of song that you can’t forget.
ESC+Plus: Have you thought about your performance for Melodifestivalen 2017?
Adrijana: Yes, I can’t say too much but my performance will be simple but nice and unforgettable.
ESC+Plus: Do you usually watch Eurovision? What is your favorite song in the history of the competition?
Adrijana: Yes, I watch Eurovision every year with my family. My favorite song and artist is Euphoria and Loreen.
ESC+Plus: If you could choose a Eurovision former participant to sing along with, who would it be?
Adrijana: It would be Loreen!

Adrijana: I just want to say thank you for the support and for the Love, which is the only thing that keeps me working harder!
