The 10 acts of which one is going to represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool (UK) have been revealed. The name of the Icelandic national final is “Söngvakeppnin 2023”.

The 10 artists and songs that are competing in the Icelandic national final, “Söngvakeppnin 2023”, have been revealed by the Icelandic national broadcaster, RÚV. In total the national broadcaster of Iceland received 132 songs that needed to be reviewed before picking a number of 10 acts in total that are going to compete in the national final.

In the Semi-finals of the Icelandic national final all contestants will first sing in their native Icelandic language. In the final the contestants can choose in which language they want to sing; the language they use in the final of Söngvakeppnin 2023, they will also use in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, if they get the chance to do so.

Below you can find a list of the 10 entrants of Söngvakeppnin 2023 and their respective songs; the entrants are divided 2 Semi-finals, which will result in one national Grand Final.

In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 Iceland was represented by Systur with the song “Með hækkandi sól“. The sisters ended in 10th position in Semi-final 1, and in 23rd position (of 25) in the Grand Final.
