Eurovision Eurovision 2024 Netherlands

How the Netherlands’ Joost Klein turned a Eurovision disqualification into worldwide success

We all remember the story. In 2024 the Netherlands sent their national enfant terrible, Joost Klein, to Eurovision in Malmö (Sweden) with his song “Europapa”. After coming in second in the first Semi-Final Joost was disqualified after a supposedly violent quarrel with a Swedish female backstage employee. Almost a year later the case against Joost Klein in Sweden was dropped because of lack of evidence.

What happened after?

Because of the fame Joost Klein gathered with being disqualified from the European Music Olympics, which is Eurovision, he was asked to perform in music festivals worldwide, and because of his uplifting and mostly hardcore beats, he came very popular because of it. He has become a dance stage act that seems to have no limits.

The Joost Klein World Tour 2026

In 2026 Joost Klein is bound to set the world on fire, because he is going on a world tour that hits South and North-America, Australia, and of course Europe. There are also talks about going to the Asian continent, although the cities and dates for this leg of the tour were not announced yet. Needless to say that he will play Europapa on this tour, although he never got to know what his placing would have been in the 2024 Grand Final. So, leave it to the Dutch to turn even a disqualification into gold.
