A while ago it was announced from eurovision.tv that the Greek national broadcaster, NERIT, has become an active member of the European Broadcasting Union and therefore Greece will take part in the upcoming contest in Vienna, Austria next May! NERIT took part in the contest last year but that was an exception.
“We’re glad to have Greece joining the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. Their dedication to the biggest music event in the world has been impressive throughout the years.” says Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the contest.
Greece have finished out of the top 10 only twice since the introduction of the semi-finals and is one of the most successful countries of the contest. Last year Greece ended up in the 20th place with Freaky Fortune ft. Riskykidd and the song “Rise Up”.
